Grant cycle made clear

Pikes Peak Region 16 uses a structured grant cycle to help applicants understand when to apply, how applications are reviewed, and how funding decisions are made.

Cycle schedule

The Council uses a biannual review structure while maintaining flexibility for documented urgent needs and targeted funding opportunities.

Spring funding cycle

Application window: January 1 through March 1

Council review and decision: April meeting

This cycle is intended for applicants ready to submit a complete proposal early in the calendar year.

Fall funding cycle

Application window: July 1 through September 1

Council review and decision: October meeting

This cycle provides a second annual opportunity for eligible organizations to seek aligned funding.

The next application review period will begin with the July 2026 applicant cycle. Applications may be submitted year-round only for limited exception review when urgent or time-sensitive needs are documented.

How the process works

Applicants should be prepared to demonstrate completeness, strategic alignment, measurable outcomes, and readiness for implementation.

Submit an application

Applicants complete the grant application and provide all required documents within the applicable cycle window.

Application review

Applications are reviewed for completeness, strategic fit, regional need, and readiness for consideration.

Question-and-answer opportunity

Selected applicants may be invited to respond to Council questions before final funding decisions are made.

Funding decision

The Council makes funding decisions after review, with applicant notifications issued after the meeting cycle concludes.
