Apple Here for Event Support
Background:
The Pikes Peak Region 16 Opioid Abatement Council (ROAC), representing El Paso and Teller Counties, is accepting applications for small events, workshops, and meetings that align with our mission to combat the opioid epidemic and substance use disorders (SUDs) in the region. Funded through opioid settlement dollars, we aim to support programming that promotes prevention, education, and recovery. The ROAC is inviting applications for small-scale activities focused on advancing these goals within the community.
Purpose:
This Event Application is intended to support short-term activities, including workshops, meetings, and community events that advance awareness and education on opioid use disorder (OUD), prevention efforts, recovery support, and harm reduction strategies. - Event Goals: Define the purpose of the event and how it aligns with the mission of the Pikes Peak Region 16 Opioid Abatement Council. How will it contribute to raising awareness, reducing stigma, or increasing access to resources for prevention, treatment, or recovery services for opioid and substance use disorders?
- Funding Usage: Provide a clear and itemized budget explaining how the funding will be allocated. This can include venue costs, speaker fees, promotional materials, event supplies, and other necessary expenses. Ensure that the funding request is reasonable and justifiable in the context of your event’s goals.
- Event Details: Include a brief description of the event (e.g., workshop, meeting, panel discussion, or community gathering), including the planned date(s), location(s), and anticipated number of participants.
- Target Audience: Outline who will attend the event. Ensure that the event is accessible to a wide cross-section of the community, including underserved populations, and how the event will engage residents of El Paso and Teller Counties.
- Evaluation Plan: Provide a plan for evaluating the success and impact of the event. How will you measure engagement and effectiveness? Possible evaluation metrics include participant feedback, knowledge gained, or actions taken as a result of the event (e.g., seeking treatment, using harm reduction resources).
Eligibility Criteria:
- Event Applications must be focused on addressing opioid and substance use disorders, with an emphasis on prevention, education, recovery, and harm reduction.
- Applications must clearly serve El Paso and Teller Counties and can engage the general public or specific target groups.
